We’re trying to figure that out, too!
I started LouisvilleBeer.com back in 2011 to be a source for news, events, and reviews of local and regional craft beers. Since then, Louisville has seen five new breweries open with four more on the way; Lexington has opened four breweries; Paducah has two on the verge of opening; and Newport and Danville have also launched breweries. It seems Kentucky is putting itself on the craft beer map.
LouisvilleBeer.com has always covered beer news from around the Commonwealth of Kentucky, but the name has become a bit misleading. LouisvilleBeer.com will stay the same, weekly podcast and all (you know about our podcast, right? We cover all kinds of beer stuff; nationally and regionally), but we are rebranding our state coverage as KYBeer.com. We plan to have a calendar of events that will be organized by region, beer reviews, and this will essentially turn into a network of Kentucky beer geeks. But, we cannot do this alone.
If you live in an area where craft beer is thriving: Lexington, Paducah, Owensboro, Newport, Danville, Eastern Kentucky, or even Monkey’s Eyebrow, we’re looking for some boots on the ground. Let us know what’s going on in your neck of the woods. Whether you like writing opinion pieces, reviewing beers, covering events, updating events on the calendar, shooting photos, recording podcasts, or shooting video…WE NEED YOU!
You might be asking yourself, “What’s in this for me?”. Well, first off, you’ll be Internet famous all over Kentucky, and your mom will be so proud! Second of all, we’re working on some details on a commission structure for any ads you sell on the website or podcast. Retailers, breweries and restaurants from all over the state will want to be a part of this to encourage state tourism to your neck of the woods. Plus, they can reach the beer lovers of Kentucky for a low, low price.
If you’d like to be a part of this, please contact John Wurth below and we’ll get some balls rollin’.
